Merchandise planners assist with promotional offers of the business, selling goods and services to the customers based on their needs.
Candidate Profile:
Proactivity and self-management are imperative qualities for the job as well as superb writing and grammar skills since high-accuracy data entry is an integral part of the job. Prior experience as an assistant buyer is preferred. Strong working knowledge with MS Office is absolutely necessary. The Merchandising Assistant supports all day-to-day activities of the Merchant team and coordinates with sourcing partners, suppliers, and internal cross-functional partners on all aspects of development and sampling to execute the Merchandiser’s creative design vision, ensure product quality, and meet on-time delivery.
Essential Duties:
- Manage the development of merchandise plans for different product categories.
- Forecast sales based on past trends and future anticipated business.
- Analyze and recognize risks and opportunities in business.
- Recommend supporting course of action.
- Develop and evaluate unit plans, projections, inventory flow, and seasonal sell-off plans.
- Partner with the Allocation team to develop and implement seasonal strategies according to region, climate, and other associated variables.
- Routinely present recommendations and other analyses to senior leadership related to driving short and long-term business goals including hind-sights, color/pattern selling, etc.
- Other activities will be assigned as needed.
